Metro Cash & Carry, Groß-Gerau (Germany)

In 2010, the wholesale company Metro Cash & Carry established a new fish distribution centre in Groß-Gerau, next to the Airport Frankfurt. Metro Cash & Carry disposes through the modern distribution centre the deliveries for the wholesale markets in Germany and Austria. Per week, more than 250 tonnes of fresh fish and seafood leave the centre. With it, the operator of the fish distribution centre, the MGL METRO GROUP Logistics, prevents time-consuming and cost-intensive intermediate storages and is normally able to supply the wholesale markets with fresh goods within 48 hours after fishing. In July and August 2010, thermofin GmbH delivered more than 30 ammonia evaporators of the series TAN and TADN with a total output of 500 kW having a constant room temperature of 2°C. The principal decision criteria were the low noise level of the installations, especially in the areas of quality inspections and order picking as well as the draught-free air duct. Furthermore, thermofin GmbH delivered two condensers of the series TACH with a capacity of 365 kW each.
