Whether MRT, CT and x-ray department or treatment and recreation rooms, all areas of the Paracelsus hospital Reichenbach will be supplied from now with regenerative energy.
For several years already, the hospital is dedicated to the creation of a healthier environment. In this year, the project is extended by a new adsorption-type refrigeration system. The basis was a long-term contract on waste heat recovery with the agricultural cooperative of Reichenbach.
The waste-heat of the biogas plant operated there is fed through a district heating pipe to the refrigeration system. With it, not only the dry cooling demand of the biogas plant can be reduced significantly, also the hospital reaches a considerable increase of the energy efficiency. This environmental friendly cycle was supported by the European Regional Development Fund with 80% of the total volume of investment. For the air conditioning technology installed by the company Plecher & Herden GmbH with a refrigerating capacity of 145 kW, thermofin® delivered a dry cooler of the series TDD. The equipping of the unit with EC fans and vibration dampers ensures a particularly low-noise operation, which is essential due to the direct location next to the hospital.
With a TCS controller, it is also possible to change between day and night mode and to respectively adapt the sound data of the fans.
