The new Friedrichstadt-Palast inaugurated in 1984 substitutes the building of the old one which was originally built in 19th century as first market hall of Berlin and was demolished because of dilapidation. The Friedrichstraße nearly completely destroyed within the 2nd World War, should receive with this new building its former cosmopolitan flair. With an architecture characterized by glass mosaics and decorative elements, the new building is today a world-wide visitor magnet. More than 500,000 guests a year experience a modern show entertainment on worlds’ largest stage.
Within the modernization of the cooling technology for the air conditioning of the stages and visitor rooms, thermofin® delivered two dry coolers of the series TDD having a capacity of 500 kW each. The use of EC-fans was completed with our specially developed TEX nozzles. Their exceptional design permits a reduction of the fan speed with the same airflow and considerably reduced sound values. With it, the specifications of sound emissions in city areas could be met.
