thermofin GmbH informs about cyberattack and data leak


thermofin GmbH and its subsidiaries in Poland and China have fallen victim to a targeted cyberattack. Unknown perpetrators gained unauthorised access to the company’s IT systems and stole, among others, personal data. According to current knowledge, this incident involves data whose disclosure poses a high risk to the rights and freedoms of the affected individuals.
 
We deeply regret this incident and take it very seriously. Immediately after becoming aware of the attack, we took the following measures:
 
  • Immediate isolation and securing of the affected systems
  • Involvement of external IT security experts to investigate and remedy the incident
  • Reporting of the incident to the competent data protection authority
 
In accordance with Article 34 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are also informing the affected individuals.
 
Which data is affected?
 
According to current information, the following types of data may have been stolen: names, addresses, contact details, bank account information. We are working intensively to determine the exact scope.
 
What can you do?
 
We recommend that affected individuals be particularly cautious about suspicious emails, phone calls, or other contact attempts. Please only share personal data with trusted parties and change your passwords if necessary.   
 
Our next steps
 
We are doing everything possible to fully clarify the incident and further strengthen our security measures. We will promptly inform affected individuals and the public about any new relevant findings.
